Through integration of the corporate wide sustainability approach, BJC can both drive corporate sustainability, and competently adapt all operations to all risks and opportunities, including all emerging and unpredictable risks and seize new opportunities, in the new market environment, parallel with reducing BJC’s negative impacts, which contributes towards ESG dimensions, allowing BJC to foster and continued its positive contributions and meet the requirements of internationally recognized standards, such as criteria of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), UN Global compact (UNGC), S&P Global, in addition to domestic standards Thailand Sustainability Investment Index (THSI) by the Thailand Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and beyond all expectations to promote sustainability throughout the entire nation, and achieve the corporatewide target to be Net Zero by 2050.
BJC Sustainability Management Policy
To accurately integrate sustainability throughout the organization and to foster a sustainability culture, BJC has established a corporatewide Sustainability Management Policy since 2020, as an underlining framework to govern the company’s sustainability approach. The Board of Directors have long recognized the importance of sustainability and its influence as a key business driver, enabling BJC to grow sustainably whilst reducing negative environmental, social and governance impacts. To ensure the successful integration of sustainability throughout the value chain, the Board of Directors have assembled the Sustainable Development Committee (SDC), comprised of representative of each supply chains.
The Sustainable Development Sub-Committee plays a crucial role and holds primary responsibilities in supporting the functioning of the Sustainable Development Committee and other tasks related to Sustainable Development Committee within the company. These tasks include fostering awareness of the group's Sustainable Development Policy, elevating and mitigating impacts arising from operational activities throughout the value chain, as well as promoting ethical values and a sustainable organizational culture encompassing economic, social, and environmental dimensions.
Furthermore, the sub-committee places significant emphasis on addressing global warming issues, managing risks and opportunities associated with genuine and sustainable climate change mitigation.
To oversee all matters related to sustainability, including the annual review and approval of all information and data disclosed in the sustainability report, prior to presentation to the Board of Directors for acknowledgement, prior to publication. SDC members consists of individuals, such as independent directors with sustainability specific knowledge and understanding, providing insightful decisions towards sustainability. Furthermore, BJC values the view and opinions of all stakeholders, such as employees. For this reason, BJC enables all employees to suggest their respective views and opinions to develop sustainability related projects through various innovative projects.
